We Need to Talk About Kevin

This would be a stone-cold masterpiece if it didn't illustrate so perfectly the difficulty in using unreliable narrators in film - I know it's trying to be ambigous like the book, but it's hard to feel that when Baby-Kevin keeps shooting Mom the Kubrick-eyes. Reilly's perceived absence can be read as cognitive dissonance (i.e. there's really nothing wrong with Kevin, at least in the beginning), but it's not enough.
