my profile is bare, i know. i usually don’t know where to start when watching movies as i remain in comfortable niches but i’m gradually progressing. right now, i’m heavily into the golden age of cinema, sixties and nineties bollywood, select animated features, and contemporary movies that strive to be more than skeletons of archetypes experienced before. i’m trying to get into more obscure films, european, korean and japanese cinema, and even more bollywood. there’s a beautiful momentum, energy, and atmosphere within the framework and essence of cinema. i want to bask in it as an audience and harness it as an aspiring filmmaker and show the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual spectrum of ourselves and this world.
NOTE: i don’t care if a movie is critically acclaimed or not. if i didn’t enjoy it or had a lackluster experience, i am going to rate it one or two stars. also, i don’t care if a movie isn’t what you consider artistic or “cinematically” sensible, if i like it, i won’t hesitate to give it a lot of stars. what i’m saying is you might see some movies here that you would rate with five that i would only rate with two and some movies that you would two that i would rate five. don’t be surprised i’m not some cookie-cutter cinephile and that i’m unapologetic about it. i love a good conversation about films but i won’t justify my taste to you.
