Audience Reactions over 2 years ago

I went to a sold out screening of “Let the Right One In” during the St. Louis International Film Festival…it received a standing ovation.
:)
I’m laughing at the comment about “Singapore Sling”, I love that movie.

You choose the book to make into a film. Then choose the director. Go! over 2 years ago

Larry Callen’s “Pinch” and “The Deadly Mandrake” made into one feature film by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Storyline: “Pinch”- A boy growing up in a country town becomes involved with a pig he trains to hunt and a mean, crafty gentleman who teaches him the art of trickery.
“The Deadly Mandrake”-As the situation in the country town of Four Corners grows steadily worse, it becomes obvious that a deadly mandrake is growing somewhere in the vicinity casting an evil spell on the town.

Neil Gaiman’s "Graveyard Book by George Romero
Storyline:A boy named Nobody Owens who, after his family is killed by a mysterious man, is subsequently adopted and raised by the occupants of an old graveyard.

It’s already been said, but I was thinking Roald Dahl’s “Twits” by Tim Burton as well.

Chester Brown’s “Ed the Happy Clown” series by David Cronenberg

inland empire - the most divisive film? over 2 years ago

um, I may be crazy but I got a laugh out of it…actually alot of laughs.
I saw it as a grainy, tongue-in-cheek tribute of sorts to LA. It almost seemed like the “B-side” to Mullholland Dr.
I think that also Eraserhead was a similar tribute to his surroundings at the time.

YES!!! ADAM HUDSON…Crash Worship used to put on an experience…not a show!!!
I really love what some of the members are doing with Extra Action Marching Band, but it pales in comparison.

Shutter Island over 2 years ago

I just saw this last night and less than 30 mins into the film I said it reminded me of this movie-mentioning the movie may be somewhat of a spoiler.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092563/
Nonetheless, I enjoyed it.
Not the best movie I’ve ever seen, but it held my attention without the use of alcohol.

I did get to go to Tom Waits “Glitter and Doom”
They shut down the bar before the show…I really think that Tom was upstairs somewhere watching us all freak out down there when they were flicking lights like the show was going to start. Although it was a cruel trick to play on Waits’s fans to have us all balancing 7 and 8 drinks(okay, straight shots) for the duration and trying to run back to our seats in time, the show was awesome.
