- The Man Without a Face
- In the Line of Fire
-The Fugitive
- The Firm
- Kalifornia
- A Bronx Tale
- Benny and Joon
- Alive
- Grumpy Old Men
- Hocus Pocus
1:50- 4:30 in the 13 min version was great especially with the still frames
on first impression I found more empathy in the 6 minute version… the beginning (i.e. b-roll of Thato riding the bus and graffiti) flowed with what he was saying more naturally. When he says he wants to whisper to the pencil, and how he should have been doing HW that whole scene of him transferring from one page to the next struck me more than that scene in the 13 min version
It’s quite the task to actually sort through all of your favorite scenes at least to give a true answer that is. I couldn’t pick one but these 3 scenes really affected me
1. Charles Laughton’s “Night of the Hunter”
1:09-2:50
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFzTBPy7nl8
the way Robert Mitchum screams will forever send chills down my spine and the eeriness of the childs song while they float down river is fantastic
2. Any scene from “Downloading Nancy” but especially the ending when the main characters played by maria bello and jason patric come to their final realization. I have never felt so much genuine sadness.
3.Watchmen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeFZXNDz7uA
Rorshachs Death, Jackie Earle Haleys face says it all
WHILE I LOVE EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN POSTED I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT YOU SHOULD LABEL THE IMAGES/CLIPS THAT YOU POST SO THAT, I , ALONG WITH FUTURE VIEWERS WILL KNOW WHAT MOVIE AND OR SHOW IS BEING DEPICTED***
Okay, while I may already have my own opinion on the subject I would really love to see how people respond to the following question:
Which film do you prefer, The Thin Red Line directed by Terrence Malick or Saving Private Ryan by Steven Spielberg?
Both are very good films, but with different approaches. I personally don’t hold either shoulder to shoulder because they are trying to grasp two different concepts. I will, however, admit that I prefer TTRL over SPR.
@ santino I was actually thinking the same thing while writing that out hahahaha. By the way, feel free to discuss any relevant war film, I encourage, no, implore you to. I have been waiting to have an in-depth debate on this topic!
Downloading Nancy: The final scene left me wrought with sadness and desperation
Land Before Time I
Lion King
Away We Go
The first time I watched it before it seemed a bit cliche, Good Will Hunting
A Walk to Remember
Pay it Forward
Dinosaur
