Are you sure you're on the right movie thread?
probably the most pretentious and wooden acted rubbish I have ever seen.
How the fuck can someone rate a Bela Tarr film with five stars and hating The Thin Red Line? does not compute.
the last scene always sends shivers down my spine. an overwhelming movie ,in a good way : >
another prime example why (the best and) the most avant-garde cinema of the 60's was made in eastern europe.
To put it simply: one of the most overwhelming, formally innovative, avant-garde movies of the 60. (not to mention that brilliant, totally psychotic intro made 14 years later)
His quote is amazing [3]
f***, i can't believe there are only 10 people who fell in love with this masterpiece.
my all time favourite new wave movie. it's mesmerizing, it's beautiful, it makes godard irrelevant. i can't get enough of it. criminally underrated gem.
her best (first four polish classics) movies are still not present here. shame on you mubi whatever......
you can buy the movie (along with the devil and third part of the night) here: http://merlin.pl/Andrzej-Zulawski_Andrzej-Zulawski/browse/product/2,684741.html#fullinfo
one of the best...ever. dear roscoe think twice before making a fool of yourself :))
beautiful-nostalgic-attimes-hilarious (first ever ?) EMO movie :) but overall worse comparing to his polish catalogue.
where the hell are his brilliant movies from the 60ties?
no movies at all, this site is terrible.
while i was on my way from london to lodz (poland) i was forced to watch that film as there was o tv-set and dvd player on the bus. and must say this movie is just a schematic, mediocre hollywood drama. the moment angelina jolie said to the doctor at mental hospital that he was a pimp i burst out laughing - it was so artificial, unreal. to sum up: painful to watch if you're fan of european cinematography.
one of the most original european directors and there is nothing here, just emptiness. terrible.
have to say: the most profound piece of movie-making ever made
