A very good film, although disjointed. Beautiful cinematography.
It left me feeling at least something, so it's a good film.
My only problem with the film is its length. It's far too short.
It's a movie that gets better the more times you watch it.
I saw this film on a sheer fluke. I was amazed by the beautiful cinematography, complex character development, and warm humor. In my opinion, the best film of this year.
Very, very enjoyable
I think the major flaw of this film is that its doomed to be misconstrued by American Audiences. Most people will foolishly believe it is a tale of hope through education. While the film does have elements present in Dangerous Minds and Freedom Writers, the film lacks the optimism and happy endings of those film. While, Precious does get to keep her children, she will still likely die in young age and will probably not escape poverty due to her poor reading and writing. Although to most people, these conditions are awful, but to Precious, it is a life far better than what she is used to.
