It's the seventh season, I believe, and it's to it's credit that the first four are very solid [can't remember the fifth.] I might suggest that Scrubs managed to keep from straying too far into caricature even longer, not that they haven't but it's more subtle. | I think having Chang as just a bad professor is more interesting than him having faked it. Now he's just simply a human prop. That would be something interesting to explore I think, but this is definitely unintentional. :(
