I guess the festival’s audience would be 1) those who hate manipulative crap such as Haggis’ Crash and Slumdog Millionaire; 2) those who see the beauty in the reality of humanity and therefore do not dismiss films that end badly; and 3) get the irony behind a festival called “The Feel Bad Film Festival.”
BTW: I hated The Road but delighted in people’s reactions when the film ended. People could not understand why the movie was made. I guess the puppy of hope wasn’t enough for them.
