At AFI Fest?
It was therapeutic to see the master display insecurity and fear, just like me.
I wanted to like it but I found it really hammy and over-directed. What kept my interest was Denzel's close ups. At 30 minutes, it felt I had already been watching 2 hours.
One of my favorite westerns. Sayles is the man.
Fascinating subject matter and a few great sequences, but it just never comes together.
Props to Nacho for toying (successfully) with genre and using ingenuity to go beyond his low budget. Very funny.
Humanism at its best. Deceptively simple and infinitely profound.
What a story. I would love to see the narrative version of this, but only Carlos Reygadas, Robert Bresson and maybe Kelly Reichardt could do it justice.
Don't let your kids get serious about ballet unless you're rich.
Stark and The Hulk should have kissed. They sure wanted to.
Cinematographers should start painting on filters again.
Maybe I want to watch it. Dunno. Trying to muster the courage.
Lots of NY cop movie cliches but well made and entertaining.
Loved the use of time, space and intersecting stories. What's left out is as important as what's on screen. A lesson in great story telling.
Original, imaginative and completely demented. Lives up to its reputation.
Very smart film that assumes you're intelligent enough to piece together the narrative. It goes deep.
I've seen it several times, yet I still catch my jaw dropping once in a while.
Weird, fascinating, amazing.
Too much talking, too much explaining things, but still worth it.
These women needed a lot of drinks.
Cute homage to the movies. The dog steals the show of course.
Afredson was the right director for this smart screenplay. I think it's better than what the critics are saying and they're saying a lot of good things. First class project through and through and very entertaining.
A truly special film. There is so much going on in the frame: layers and layers of sounds and visuals and meaning. It helped me understand myself better.
My kind of film: dark, stylish and about really fucked up people.
That little bitch Mary was terrifying. Children are to be feared.
I just realized "Rosetta" was also looking for a job in this one. Ha ha. I love French films because they just show you who people are without trying to explain why they are that way.
I didn't understand the exploding house until I saw who directed it. Watch Manhunter instead.
Yes, I watched his effin film. The whole thing because I was too lazy to change the channel. I hate myself.
I just met the Dardennes and took a picture with them. They are so down to earth and sweet. Genuine.
This is the movie of the year. LVT made me weep.
WOW. WOW. WOW. You must see this on the big screen and on 3D.
