The aspects I enjoyed were more a result of Lawrence than Russell.

There is something charming about this film and it's a good job too because it's INCREDIBLY SLOPPY in places...
56 up!!!!!!!!
His face at the end sums it up......'tf?' .....The tension existed until that stupid pagan/occult/whatever bit began.
A lot of good acting in this but Roshan Seth (not even listed?) is a standout for me.
Ruined by the second half. The ladies were good though.
The Drinking Party?
Again - awkward filmmaking. Costume/makeup department are an embarrassment.
School for Scoundrels?
Stunningly filmed interviews!!!
Oddly Bergman-esque. I love Dreyer and think he's made films far better than this. Naturally a little disappointed after seeing quotes like 'nothing in cinema comes close to this experience..'
Alright/good in parts, mostly clumsy. Slightly odd scenes in terms of acting...
The twists in this left me stunned!
Great soundtrack. I was interested for about the first 45 minutes, then a wave of lethargy/apathy hit me as I think it did the entire audience. None of them seemed to take it very seriously as it veered off into incoherence.
If you like what this man has directed then this is essential viewing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2K9m1xRVti8 Be sure to watch all the parts.
Ya'll should watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uZgJapYmEI&feature=player_embedded#!
Pitch Black Heist?
One of the best things about this, of course, is that it is meaningless. A string of incoherent events. Rather like something else I can think of.
Big love for Christoph. Pity it ended where it did.
This may or may not be relevant, but I think my favourite part of seeing this film (in the cinema, as it should be seen) is as the MGM logo emerges and with it the low hum of Sonnenaufgang silencing the audience.
I really hate the voice-overs in his films and find his direction a little underwhelming. The content however, is always fascinating.
What a gem this is. I'd be surprised if Terence Davies hadn't seen this...
I liked certain scenes, generally involving the husband. Other parts were bloody tedious.
My only issue with this is that it wasn't double the length.
The scene on the train with the other passengers singing around him is quite something.
Where the hell can I see this?!?!?!
Incredibly naturalistic acting.
This guy might deserve a profile...
