"Wes Anderson’s latest film is a wonderful adult-themed children’s fantasy worthy of François Truffaut." Check out my review @ Cinémezzo: http://cinemezzo.com/2012/05/29/youth-in-revolt-wes-andersons-moonrise-kingdom/
A viewing of El Dorado reinforced my feelings that The Avengers has a Hawksian tone to it. A group of people becoming a team to unite against some threat, with lighthearted exchanges and internal fights along the way. Never self serious, but touching when the final stand comes along, which isn't so much about the story, but the notion of fighting together.
Joss Whedon’s mega blockbuster, The Avengers, is an all-too-rare Hollywood entertainment—supremely fun, witty and intelligent, it could rightly be called the best superhero film yet made. Review @ http://tinyurl.com/6qqkafv
Better than I expected! A sophisticated deconstruction of the horror genre that makes Haneke just look grumpy. High quality Whedon.
I bet this is Nathan's home page
Everyone I'm following who has seen this film has rated it 5 out of 5. May this trend continue during the World Cup! http://mubi.com/lists/2012-mubi-world-cup
me too! apart from one mean mean person :P guys if i follow you and you rate it less than five i'm unfollowing you because i can't stand such disorder ;)
The unusual shot choices and Neveldine/Taylor's sense of humour help make this an occasionally fun, always strange, time at the movies, but compared to the Crank films and Gamer this feels like a neutered version of their cinema.
Bordwell: "Over the top doesn’t capture it. There is, it seems, no longer a top to go over."
Gene Kelly said my name!
One of my favourite working actors

Eager to reevaluate this one when the Scorsese cut sees the light of day...
Ruffalo is amazing in this.
Out of the December 2011 Spielberg double bill, I take War Horse over Tintin.
"For the Love of Movies: Martin Scorsese's Hugo" @ http://cinemezzo.com/2011/12/18/hugo/
Watching Godard's apocalyptic masterpiece in the midst of the Occupy movement is a poignant experience. Weekend's portrayal of the savagery of consumerism, and its indictment of bourgeois ignorance, is intensely relevant. Ferocious, witty, and altogether powerful, it is one of the highest accomplishments of cinema.
This looks like it will be one of my favourite Cronenbergs.
It's one of mine. It's still pure Cronenberg, but the characters are more human than usual and as a result it becomes a much more relatable film. Probably my third favorite of his.
This is damn funny.
I think Georges Méliès would have been most pleased to see Le Voyage dans la Lune rendered in 3D, as I did tonight.
Deconstructions of suburbia don't get any more pleasant than this!
Ben Rivers is the real deal - see his films!
There are things to like in this film but I don't think it quite adds up

Out of all the people I'm following, I am the only one who has given this a negative rating...Why?
