About Me

Struggling filmmaker (isn’t everybody?) who is about to finish UCF with a BA in film. Hoping to get into a MFA program. My passion for film starts at a young age when my dad took me and my brother to see Star Wars at a Drive-in Theater. But I didn’t approach film as a serious vocation until the mid-90’s when I took a Cinema Course at the College of Charleston. It was there that I was introduced to classics such as The Third Man and Seven Samurai. I don’t have a favorite genre. That mostly depends on my mood. I do have a list of films that I enjoy and are very passionate about.

They are as follows:
The Searchers
The Third Man
Pulp Fiction
Unforgiven
Rear Window
Black Narcissus
Voyage to Italy
Twentieth Century

I’m sure many of these come as no surprise. This list is simply a reflection of how I feel today. I might feel differently tomorrow, but in all likelihood these films will probably be somewhere in my list of favorites.

The Mirror

This was a true discovery for me. This along with Kiarostami's Close-Up and Makhmalbaf's Moment of Innocence are some of the most amazing films to come out of Iran.

J.D. Burt, it's been two years since your comment, but I like the cut of yer jib, sir! Didn't you suggest Criterion putting out Bad & the Beautiful with Two Weeks In Another Town? Now there's an idea...
