The-master--3

The Master

THE MASTER plays like a compellingly painful fever, a disordering, wistful, and stunning glimpse of postwar America's desperate and failed quest to remove ourselves from ourselves. Paul Thomas Anderson is following an instinct like never before and has given us his most precise and bizarre picture yet.

True the book The Hobbit is only about 300 pages and there was an animated film that was only 77 minutes. LOL

Understandable. After watching the last Harry Potter, I'm kind of tired of seeing all these mainstream adaptations of books. I'm not even interested in reading The Hunger Games after seeing the movie. Although I'm excited about The Hobbit, I don't get why it has to be two movies instead of just one big three hour film. Batman's always been a favorite of mine and I've grown to appreciate Nolan a lot more, so I can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises in just three days.

I don't understand why the hobbit movie can't be 90 minutes! Nolan really isn't someone I admire beyond his Batman movies. Those I really like.

Would you say you're not into blockbusters? I notice you've included The Dark Knight as a favorite, but you're one of the few people who excludes big popular franchises or sagas like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Harry Potter, and superhero films from the lists of movies you've rated as good or bad.

Generally speaking, yes, not into blockbusters. Pretty much all the franchises you list I have very little interest in. I've just always liked Batman. And yeah, I am really looking forward to fully avoiding the hobbit movies.

Did you really also just watch "Klute" in the last day or two? (Pakula kick?)

Ha! No. I wish. I saw those films years ago and something reminded me of them, so I rated them. They're great!
