Sweet Movie

I prefer this to W.R personally.

Traffic

I don't buy it. This movie has influenced so many glib, trite and obnoxious prestige movies that it can't be looked at in the same way.

Breaking the Waves

I think this movie is photographically unwatchable. I prefer early Von Trier.

Irreversible

I personally think its lacking the substance of I Stand Alone, but I digress, this is one of the best and most memorable theatrical experiences I've ever had so I'd recommend it on that level alone. Gaspar Noe is one of the few directors doing new things in narrative features. He's not a Paul Thomas Anderson who's just haphazardly trying to bring back the 70's.....was that really shot in 16mm? damn, that's crazy

Inland Empire

I think I'm the only David Lynch fan alive who didn't like this movie. It seems like self parody, and a lot of the material is old. I much prefer Lost Highway, Mulholland Dr. and Fire Walk With Me and Eraserhead. I found it rather boring and I thought it just looked like shit. The weird comedy aspect of the movie felt really forced this time around too.

Inland Empire

I've seen this in 70mm a few times, easily one of the best theatrical experiences one could have........It seems almost cliche to say, but how on earth did he make this movie in the late 60's? Light years ahead of just about everything.
