About Me

I love cinema. I hate the way the internet is destroying it. I am fascinated by auteur theory and the nouvelle vague and have grown up with a strong interest in American independent film. For me, Godard is the master, Herzog a genius and Tarantino an excellent plaegerist. I must add that Ron Fricke has an eye for the shots that truely earn the label of ‘captivating’. Young directors: Harmony Korine stands apart from the herd. Hollywood in my opinion is Scorcese, Scott and the Coen Brothers and not much beyond. I love international film especially Hong Kong cinema. That’s about it…. i am always appreciative of suggestions of films/directors from around the globe.

I think this is a massively overrated film... Von Trier is undeniably a very individualistic and important filmmaker but this really isn't a masterpiece i think people need to calm down about this film. A good idea well executed but this really is no classic.
