One of my top ten favorite directors, everyone should see Stroszek (1977)

This film is a satirical commentary on the use of the extreme and the provocative to make a statement about modern values and morals. It uses wildly "disturbing" imagery in the most absurd ways possible bringing levity and humor to even the most intense of scenes. Sweet Movie affectingly and efficiently lampoons modern morality and the mystique of virginity as just another method of commercializing sex.

This film says nothing interesting about it content. The only message it send is Fascism/Power is in the end the fastest way yo moral depravity. One of it's most noted claims is that of being the most depraved and grotesque films ever made. This however falls flat as the scenes are poor paced, without emotion and tame by today's standards. Pasolini makes great films, just not always, and just not this one.
