A.I. Artificial Intelligence

Spielberg has been in the doghouse for me the last 6 years but seeing this again reminded me that cinema needs an optimist. We're lucking that optimist happens to be the most capable storyteller in cinema. (Miyazaki is a close 2nd.) Kubrick was right to hand it off to him.

Life as a theatre going movie geek slowly gets worse for me the more I fall out of the 18-25 demographic. So far only 5 flicks on the agenda for 2012: 1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 2. The Flowers of War 3. Gravity 4. The Avengers 5. Prometheus or Brave I usually have 20 movies.

From now on I'm going to petition ILM every year to simply release the reel of that years best work & I'll gladly pay 7 bucks for that. Iron Man 2 was an overpriced prologue to the Avengers crap Marvel is cooking up. If I hadn't been @ the Alamo Drafthouse barreling through red wine & pizza it would've ruined my whole day. Thank god for Francis Ford Coppola & his damn good red wine
