

Armadillo was superb. There's a lot of difference compared to Restrepo--more stylized, more engaged, more honest, and more critical. The director is very articulate too (most aren't).
Saw the trailer to Armadillo. If it wasn't mis-advertised, I'm expecting it to be better than Restrepo, which is rather conventional. Looking forward to seeing it in a few weeks.
Have you seen Steam of Life? I'm not sure if it's a trend in nordic filmmaking (Into Eternity, The Anchorage) to take documentary to another level.
I haven't seen that, no, but it sounds interesting! Will check it out. And I don't think it's limited to the nordic countries specifically really, hasn't documentary making had a bit of a renaissance in general? I think it's easier to find audiences (and thus funding) for experimental documentaries now than it was just 5 or 10 years ago
