I saw Ferngully: The Last Rainforest when I was a kid. In that animated movie, this guy from the human world is marking trees in the rainforest to be cut down by this bulldozing, tree-cutting machine called the leveler. He later joins the native fairy people and learns all about the spirit of the forest, and how plants can feel pain. The guy from the human world then confesses that he’s a part of the plan to take over the rainforest. They then battle to save it. There is also a holy tree where all the fairies gather at the end just like in Avatar. There are just so many similarities, that it can’t be coincidence! Who else agrees?
As I was watching My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, I started to laugh a little when Macallam would start saying weird things, but as the movie continued on I felt a strange fear like something was unnaturally wrong with what I was seeing (And I’m not talking about the murder). What seemed so frightening and wrong was the little things like shouting “God isn’t in this house!” and rolling the oatmeal towards the cops, or dangling the lightbulb above several prescription eyeglasses and saying “This is how I bring heaven to earth.” in a monotone voice. Not to mention the midget! In my opinion, this is what makes this movie good. The movie’s not concerned with the motives of the murderer or even trying to understand him. His girlfriend and the play director oddly don’t seem realistic, because they are very casual and calm given what has just transpired and how he had been acting beforehand. This adds to the creepiness of the film. What are your thoughts on it?
James Cameron totally ripped the story of Avatar off of Ferngully: The Last Rainforest! over 2 years ago

Animated Oscar Race: Up v. Ponyo over 2 years ago
I haven’t seen Up, but Ponyo was amazing. Visually, it’s the best thing that he’s ever done. And all hand-drawn! Ponyo should get best animated film.
