Minimal and profoundly powerful.
Really well done- a hyperrealist picture touching on the cyclic nature of violence and hate. Norton and Edward Furlong are excellent.
How can ANYONE like this awful, awful movie? Not even the more-than-godly beauty of Louis Garrel was able to save such garbage.
I'm sorry to say that I ended up just hating this.
Johnny Depp is god as usual, otherwise without him and Helena this would have been even worse. The visuals are really great, but regardless it is very lukewarm, insubstantial, and almost irritatingly action-y towards the end. Anne Hathaway is terrible in this, ugh.
Oh god I'm cryinggggggg!
So dear, very touching and a really great performance from pint-sized Thomas Turgoose.
One of the most amazing things about this documentary is how human it is. Nobody in it is perfect. Yet, Larry and his "sons" are honest and loving towards eachother (but not without scuffles and problems, minor and major). This is a piece not only about bonds between people, but about human push against structural society, as well as everyday challenges. Touching and substantial.
A singular cinematic mindfuck. My first official Lynch experience, and the beginning of a long journey into modern American cinema.
