About Me

I wasted my youth with my youthfulness, now I aim to waste the rest of it watching films.

Murmur of the Heart

You know how it's said of people with great voices that "you could listen to them read the phone book all day and never grow tired of hearing it"? Well, that's kinda how I feel about Malle and his directorial touch. So that means that I could watch him do what exactly and never grow bored? I'm not sure that I know, but I am absolutely positive that he has become one of my very, very favourite filmmakers.

Hey, thanks! I thought I deleted them all, haha. I'll probably get back into makin' 'em soon. It's a lot of fun.

Absolutely! I'm not really sure why I just vomited a bunch of titles on to your wall like that, other than possibly b/c I was reading about Alan J. Pakula at the time(one of the great US directors of the 70's).

Yes, I thought it was excellent. Have you seen it?

Yes! I love it! One of my favourite modern films. It's so giddily complex.

Have you seen A Christmas Tale? I like it slightly less than Kings and Queen, but I still love it.

Yes! I own the Criterion. I agree that it's not Kings and Queen, but it's good and the dvd is quite wonderful. There's a film of Desplechin's family home being sold that is worth seeing as well as a doc on ACT. Amalric and Devos are so, I can't think of the proper word, but there's like an inviting, welcoming quality to their acting that I find enormously appealing. I just saw Read My Lips, too. Loved it.

I just saw Read My Lips as well. Devos and Cassel were both really good.
