I Believe I Can Fly (Flight of the Frenchies) (2011), from Sebastien Montaz-Rosset, is a must see documentary about Baselining, an emerging sport of base jumping from highlines. In this beautiful and subtle film (40 min), we are present with people who are powerfully facing death and fear and living fully by setting up ropes of 1" webbing tightened across huge mountain gulches, tight-rope walking and traversing them with parachutes on their backs and then plunging into space. Truly massive, enormous, heroic peoples of the heart laying it on the line. And beautifully shot with a dslr with a gorgeous soundtrack. Humungous props to the baseliners, highliners, film makers and witnesses who made this film possible. The Swedish film "Så som i himmelen" (As It Is in Heaven) is one of the best films I've ever seen. Made in 2004, Directed by Kay Pollak, and starring Michael Nyqvist and the stunning Frida Hallgren, this film is blessed with an entire cast full of award worthy performances, and is at heart a flawlessly executed testament to the power of music as a spiritual force, native to the human condition, and able to transform and awaken the heart. This film should be on the Auteurs! (5 Stars!)
