I've always said, "If acting doesn't work out, I want to do something in the film industry. Anything would be cool." But I really want to be on the set and working in the production aspect, so I know what you mean when you say hands-on work. I think I may be leaning towards direction or even editing. But editing seems like a whole other ball game. I'm not sure if the editor makes the trailers, but if not, I think that would be the coolest job ever. I have the same problem with focusing and studying. I like to just do things rather than study them...you know? My senior year I wrote my finial paper on how film studies should be taken as seriously as the study of literature. So I really like analyzing films and pulling them apart like you would a novel. On the flip side, I love just watching and appreciating the art of a film. I think it's interesting how movies are the most expensive art form out there. Even the ones cranked out for strictly making money purposes have their charm to them, I think. And I have to say, I was shocked when I found out there was no cinema club at IU. I couldn't believe it!! We should start one! And I'm not sure what it is about pixar, but I find a lot of their plots so incredibly boring! That's exactly what I thought about Up. I loved the beginning, hated the rest. Cars, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, etc. I don't know what it is, but I just don't find them very entertaining. I felt like Wall-E was a 90 minutes lecture on how my laziness with ruin the planet. And I love the Earth! I give it trash presents everyday.

I'm not sure exactly what I want to do with it. Right now I'm a Theatre and Drama major but I really want to do something in film, I'm just not sure what. What do you plan on doing with your degree? It's hard to really decide what to do...I might change my major to better suit film. And yes, those two movies are some of my favorites!
