Being a pseudo-intellectual is a full-time job, only if you have to work at it. Real pseudo-intellectuals like me come by it naturally.
Surfing through this site, I saw one of your posts (on the page for My Winnipeg) and found your profile, and I read your "About Me" paragraph. I have to say I've always felt the same way, that my life is like a movie, and I think about moments as scenes, conversations as witty dialogue, and how it's all going to tie-in with other "scenes" and how epic the end will be. Yet I've never really voiced this, because I think most people would think I'm completely nuts.
I also really like what you say about literature and film as hand-in-hand. I was also an English lit. major, and I watch films from that perspective and read books from a film perspective and get so much out of both.
Good stuff. Who are some of your favorite writers?
I totally agreed with what you said about the departed. And then i come here checkin' out your directors list, and all of it is fantastic. BUT, you ain't got no kurosawa? That's craaazy talk. Also, I loved Happy-Go-Lucky
Loved your review of Happy Go Lucky. Truly a great character study.
