If you could shoot Hitler as a child and make the whole Holocaust and War go away, would you pull the trigger on someone so innocent? Klimov, in a brief but powerful moment, makes Hitler human. Reminds us that it wasn't some out-of-this-world monster that created so much chaos but a human, once a child sitting on his mother's lap. Spielberg should be taking notes.
No one has ever seen life as real as Cassavetes did. Realer to life than life is to itself.
