I still manage to be touched by Malick's way of seeing the beauty in the world, and people's difficulty in finding/maintaining it, whether it be a landscape, animal or relationship. Despite the ever increasing opaqueness with each progressive film he above all remains a wholly earnest artist; searching, questioning and often in awe.
'The Legend of Kaspar Hauser' was pretty ridiculous huh? I really enjoyed watching it but at the same time I was aware how awful and pointless it was. It made me laugh a lot though so I gave it 4 stars (think I'll lower it to 3 now that I've thought about it). I genuinely liked 'The Legend of Love & Sincerity' although I wish more thought had been put into some of the songs and the choreography, which if I remember accurately was almost nonexistent. Anyway thanks for the follow, seems we share many favourite films.
