About Me

TRANSFIXED BY THE INTERSTICES OF CULTURE

Evelyn Nesbit about 1900 at a time when she was brought to the studio by Stanford White, by Gertrude Kasebier. Pictures, Images and Photos

ARIEL
Stasis in darkness.
Then the substanceless blue
Pour of tor and distances.

God’s lioness,
How one we grow,
Pivot of heels and knees!—The furrow

Splits and passes, sister to
The brown arc
Of the neck I cannot catch,

Nigger-eye
Berries cast dark
Hooks—-

Black sweet blood mouthfuls,
Shadows,
Something else

Hauls me through air—-
Thighs, hair;
Flakes from my heels.

White
Godiva, I unpeel—-
Dead hands, dead stringencies.

And now I
Foam to wheat, a glitter of seas.
The child’s cry

Melts in the wall.
And I
Am the arrow,

The dew that flies,
Suicidal, at one with the drive
Into the red

Eye, the cauldron of morning.

All the Mornings of the World

Surely one of the most hauntingly poetic films ever made: a tone poem on love and loss, the way that time flays us with memory and regret. The opening notes of "The Dreaming Girl" go straight to the fractured heart. Jean-Pierre Marielle's pitch-perfect performance of the grieving artist pursuing perfection is a masterly portrayal of restrained passion.

You can also call me Your Dudeness. Because you're not into that whole brevity thing.

woa! thank you very much, but i am not like that, really.\the film was about dance and music, making words almost unimportant, that's why they came out easily, freely. when they become secondary in importance, words loose their shame and storm in like maenads :D. but the film was a bit of a disappointment, i thought i would see the ballet in the end. instead, i got only the making of it, a half-torn postcard. i got only the sticky paper, 'cause the candy was stolen. hearing stockhausen was rewarding though. tous les matins du monde!!! i will see that as fast as i can then, it sounds great. your choice of pics above is marv ;)
