yeah, i saw the kino version and found it pretty shoddy. most of their dvds are sub-par. what’s the deal with that company? i saw their version of chabrol’s ‘les bonnes femmes’ a couple of months ago and it looked terrible.
i saw malle’s ‘elevator to the gallows’ recently and was surprised at how much one of the plot lines reminded me of ‘breathless’. stylistically they aren’t very similar, but godard must have seen the earlier film.
and i’m pretty sure david fincher was influenced by joon ho bong’s ‘memories of murder’ before he made ‘zodiac’. i love both of those, by the way.
