1.Don’t let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds.
2.
In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love – they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.(The Third Man)
3.You’re not your job. You’re not how much money you have in the bank. You’re not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet. You’re not your fucking khakis. You’re the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.(Fight Club)
4.Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don’t you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can’t think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you’re supposed to read? Do you think every thing you’re supposed to think? Buy what you’re told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you’re alive. If you don’t claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned- Tyler
5.Julie Vignon: Now I have only one thing left to do: nothing. I don’t want any belongings, any memories. No friends, no love. Those are all traps.(Blue)
For me he’s just a hoax. It’s empty. It’s not interesting. It’s dead. Citizen Kane (1941), which I have a copy of, is all the critics’ darling, always at the top of every poll taken, but I think it’s a total bore. Above all, the performances are worthless. The amount of respect that movie’s got is absolutely unbelievable. ( INGMAR BERGMAN).
I’ve watched Citizen Kane about 14 times and it wasn’t until 12th that I realized it doesn’t deserve to be the best film on every list!!and the Trial I think is the only interesting film he ever made(as a director),but at the same time you can still see that this in not Welles world and he just brought Kafka’s world to the screen from A to Z .He didn’t actually try to be a bit creative like what Kurosawa did in Ran or Throne of Blood with Shakespeare.lets not forget cinema is a different medium.
At the end I think Welles was a great Technician but he wasn’t a great Author.don’t you think so?HONESTLY.
Nobody can deny that he was great in the technician aspect of film making ,he was actually one of the first american directors that used “depth in a scene”in his films. but that alone doesn’t make him a GREAT director. It’s ideas behind that beautiful cinematography and lighting and all the other SHIT that makes a film good and a director an auteur.
I’ll give you an example for that: Everybody is somebody’s fool. The only way to stay out of trouble is to grow old so I guess I’ll concentrate on that. Maybe I’ll live so long that I’ll forget her or Maybe I’ll die trying.I think it’s from The Lady from Shanghai .and that’s the deepest dialogue Welles ever used as far as I can remember.I think you can get what I mean!!!

In 1994 Béla Tarr made a film ,and after that the cinema wasn’t the same for me.It changed the meaning of " what a film, has to show " on the screen.
