Prologue: "Every revolution is a throw of the dice." /// Epilogue: "Every thought emits a throw of dice." /// Camus has something to say on this: "To know about life and death and to become human to deny becoming god: the unique rule that is genuine today." Because every revolution (or thought) aims to recreate the god, but this process itself necessarily entails throwing of the dice, one after another...

L'amour existe

The clarity of the film's vision makes it feather light and 20' flow so smoothly. Just beautiful. And all despite the colourless life in the suburbs, the sencerity shakes you. I'd prescribe it to take one viewing each week as a tranquilizer. And what a suitable, beautiful music.

It was a moment of bliss when the gracious, beautiful black dog that accompanied Stalker 30 years ago once again accompanied Tõnu here. It's like running into an old friend and considering the onthological context in both films, it may hardly be a coincidence. What a nice present this Eesti film is.

One of those masterpieces where it firmly stands on the safe side of the borderline b/w emotional blackmail and transcendental reality.

a.k.a. Buñuel in Disneyland. btw, off with Burton's head!

Alice

I admit, it's fulfilling its premisses as the director tries to bring in something "fetichist". 90's pretentious postmodern genre (i.e. "Crash"), what could one expect?.. Intimacy in indulging into the world of obsession (red velvet curtains, flesh..) and insisting on such imagery though all these are so desperatly 'wanted to be' mean something. Ja, nothing but consistent!

Life Is a Miracle

Trying to translate the titles in German may be understood and/or tolerated upto a point. But at least put it right! Life is not a wound!! And in case the editor is trying to make an irony, this is really a very cheap one.
