In a sense, Marker re-imagines cinema, by breaking the film into constituent frames. these frames all incorporate a wealth of information that convey the narrative while at the same time cutting against seamless narrative flow. In this way. Marker takes what is otherwise an innocuous even cliche image--a smile--and makes it transcendent by allowing it the only actual motion in the movie.

Hey Richard, had a look at the link you sent me, good stuff. You know I studied literature in college? My favorite novel is Michael Ondaatje's Coming Through Slaughter, have you read that? There definitely some nice images in your poetry, I especially liked the Logic of Green (which happens to be my favorite color) and your line cutting reminds me a little of William Carlos Williams. Glad you liked Mahulat, you're probably the first person who got that opening shot! Hahaha. Take it easy...<',))(

Richard, I Appreciate the suggestion of the remake of "Seance On A Wet Afternoon". I will certainly check it out. I have been wanting to give one of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's films a look anyways. I am of big fan of Thrillers and I hear he has some good ones. I had no idea there was even a remake. Sounds interesting.
