Quite appropriate indeed!
The parody commercials are priceless.
Motogringo - the description gives away the entire Simpsons episode with Gabbo as well. Oh well, I'll watch this movie anyway, just to see Matlock as Gabbo: "All the kids in Springfield are S.O.B.s."
Boobies! Come on, what do you want? It's 2 minutes....
Sorry Michael Bay apologists, but Hollywood spectacles actually CAN be good, see Star Trek for example. So there is no excuse for putting out garbage like this. If you are spending hundreds of millions, why not just make an effort to put a decent film together? I mean they probably came up with this "plot" in about 5 minutes and spent months on the effects.
The exact opposite of "The Wizard of Oz".
This is the so-called "anti-American" LvT indulgence. But the small, impoverished, chalk-drawn, hick town of Dogville can be found anywhere in the world. This film relentlessly attacks the hypocrisy of people with power - even if it is just a little taste of power. In a way this reminded me of "Das Experiment" because the characters seem almost like they're part of a twisted LvT psych experiment.
I really enjoyed this. The 15 1/2 hours went by faster than the 3 hours of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End".
The happiest war movie I've ever seen.
