Newbie. Menial laborer from east Tennessee. Love Criterion. The best film I’ve yet seen is ‘Persona’. Or was it ‘2001’? Or was it ’The Phantom of Liberty? Love bunnies.
The order changes once in a while. Ones ranked way down at #20 or 30 are films I still dearly love.
1. Persona
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey
3. The Phantom of Liberty (Bunuel)
4. Citizen Kane
5. Ran
6. Vertigo
7. The Passion of Joan of Arc
8. Aguirre, the Wrath of God
9. Metropolis (Lang)
10. Sweet Movie (Makavejev)
They keep anwering my prayers. I am so happy they are doing The Exterminating Angel and Simon of the Desert.
Top of my list would be Last Year at Marienbad.
Great idea, F.C., to bring in John Waters.
Every Ingmar Bergman film they don’t have.
AKBAR, you don’t like ‘The Bank Dick’?
“Had a cod liver oil mine up in Cape Cod. Snowed all winter. We did alot of boondoggling. Ever boondoggle, Joe?”
Lists are a waste of time.
1. Ran
2. Throne of Blood
3. Rashomon
4. Ikiru
5. Seven Samurai
6. Yojimbo
7. Kagemusha
8. Stray Dog
Does anyone else think that Kagemusha is under-rated?
Junkie, but strapped for cash. When I buy any other dvd, I feel like I’m wasting my money.
I’ve decided from now on to only get ’em straight from the source.
When you look at OOP titles, you really should consider how long ago the dvd was produced.
