Interesting to see the Art created by German artist Anselm Kiefer in his derelict workshop in Barjac, the South of France. The documentary gives you an insight into his life and work, giving you space and time to see his artistic universe and the practicalities to create such imposing masterpieces.
Very stylishly filmed, some cool music and good acting. A bit far fetched at times but fun.
Danish romcom - Far too sweet for my liking...
Just seen this film in Barcelona on holiday and it was some time and money really well spent. I felt deeply moved by the story. How a simple man, poet and musician became so popular and famous in South Africa and completely unaware of his own success. Beautiful amazing documentary - Highly recommended.
Great fun - This latest comedy from Pedro Almodovar is good and well worth a trip to the cinema - It is full of colour, sex and... The characters and situations are hilarious... I really enjoyed that one.
Some beautifully filmed shots of nature and interesting voice over. Not the most feel good film and relationship but at least there is hope!
Not the film of the century but interesting to see the relationships between Hitchcock and women, especially his wife...
It is a refreshing film about a highly disabled man developing his sexuality with the help of a sex surrogate while maintaining his catholic faith. It show the importance of being fulfilled and the ability everyone has to develop positive relationships.
The film is seriously outdated but some hilarious moments like the egg & chips incident. Good to see Shirley was actually down to earth despite of her loopy moments...
Not too sure about the beginning of the film but must admit the tiger scenes were terrifyingly good and scary. The film stayed with me some time afterwards, which is a good sign...
A teacher wrongly accused of paedophilia has to go through a harrowing time rejected and accused by the whole community before his name can be cleared - Can such an accusation be removed without leaving any stains? Although I found it a bit slow at times, the film raises important questions...
I am not too keen on the jumping/running around but have to say Javier Bardem was excellent as the evil hacker and Daniel Craig was as fit as ever. The plot is obviously a bit farfetched but still entertaining and nice to see that James Bond is actually half French...
The story was interesting but I did not feel moved by it, unfortunately. Might have to read the book or see another adaptation to see if it has more punch.
It feels like a Chekhov play all along with a theatrical atmosphere and some deep reflections on life to inspire you....
I loved this film - Some of the characters are really nice, moving, and you get close to them - Some are less nice but a good depiction of family life and personalities...
I am not a massive fan of Director F. Ozon as his films often leave you with a taste of wet cigarette in the mouth, a slightly unpleasant feeling. What starts like a fun situation in a French high school with a literature teacher discovering a talented student quickly turns into the creepy story of a teenager trying to creep into people's houses and lives. I found some of the situations a bit too unrealistic...
Not sure about this one - Maybe I need to avoid films about activism as I find them quite boring - Conversations were quite bland and the acting could have been more convincing
I found this film quite tough - Seeing this little girl living in horrid conditions but at the same time it seemed to be an imaginary world full of innocence and a reflection on life and death
It is weird, disturbing but also strangely hypnotic, puzzling and fun. I have never seen anything like that before. A real 'Coup de Maitre' from French Director Leos Carax. A good reflection on life, death and the many facets/identities we take all along...
I did not like the beginning of the film but warmed up to it slowly - Some nice likeable characters and a reflection on growing and aging - Nothing to be scared of...
I have seen it twice now and really enjoy this film - It is amazing how a topic that could be so dramatic has been turned into a comedy - Lovely story
What starts like a typical summer love story turns into a challenging distance relationship raising questions of love, what we can endure to be with the one and if it is worth it. Can Love survive?
It was much better than expected, quite funny and a good reflection on celebrity and adultery with the fantastic Italian actor Roberto Benigni. Some surreal operatic scenes. Several stories all happening in Rome...
Although I am not too keen on the characters, the film clearly shows how messy life and love can be...
I loved this documentary - Inspiring and at times very funny - An interesting artist challenging the Chinese system...
Obviously, it is quite entertaining to watch fit male strippers shake their bums on stage but the plot was a bit too basic for me...
I love the actors kristin Scott Thomas and Pio Marmai - A story of kidnapping quite intense and brutal but a little bit farfetched... Could you really fall for your aggressor?
7 Days / 7 films about Cuba & I only liked Friday...
Lighthearted and funny with a twist in the middle... Maybe not the film of the century but some beautiful landscapes.
The trailer was great and raised expectations. Unfortunately, the film was too long with far too much talking and too many scenes spent in the limo. Too static for me - I felt like leaving the cinema after 10 minutes...
