I am a student at Rutgers who has recently attempted to broaden my range of knowledge about directors and their films. I used to think that observing art, music, movies, etc would hinder myself from creating original material, since I feel that observing other people’s work will inevitably influence what I make, I could not observe other art, because that would become my crutch in a way. But then I realized that if that were my logic, I can’t watch what other people have created, so I scratched that idea. Anyways, I’m off to start hunting these movies down.
