About Me

Born in Defiance, Pennsylvania, USA, 1950. Formal education as documentary filmmaker, Temple University, Philadelphia, 1973. Worked as news cameraman for NBC and CBS affiliates in Hartford and Boston. Shot national spots for various Proctor/Gamble products. Partnered with Fred Miles on some of the earlier MTV station identifiers (Clio nominated). Partnered with Paul de Nooijer on music videos for Golden Earring. Created the earliest music videos for Dan Hartman. Wrote the book for the blues musical production of The Tear Jar. Produced various national and regional documentaries. Rediscovered ‘filmmaking’ in 2000—after no motion production for many years— when digital video became practical and inexpensive. Personal video works awarded prizes in numerous international video festivals. Video works in the permanent collections of museums in Naples, Paris and Barcelona.

There's a LOT of web around these days, eh? How's it working out for you? Not much for me. We're all vapor (or binary info) in the end. Sad, isn't it? So many of us think that all we need is that one big break. But, there are no breaks left. They've all been taken up by earlier, naive moments. We all know everything now—we're all digitally educated. We're all in the same digital boat. We're canceling one another out. A creative life on this planet is becoming rather limited... not meaning 'doing' it, but climbing up to a level of recognition. Yeah... that's pretty much gone. Let's all be honest... there's too much of it... just too much. So, hey... let's just be honest with ourselves... if we want to create motion ideas... then, let's just do it. Don't do it for the large audience. That's a dead end. Do it for your wife, your mom... do it for that unique guy up the street. Do it for yourself! In the end, that's why any of us do this, right? For all of you 'wondering why,' God bless you... you're my brother... or, my sister. Enjoy your work.
