Kick Ass feels so genuine. It's so low concept, like Kiltro. But, the direction and writing is so tight, so inviting, it's impossible not to get lost in this fantasy, that so near our real world. I loved it.
How To Train Your Dragon is one of the best entries into the "child discovers..ET Iron Giant, Terminator, CJ7, etc..." genre that there could possibly be. Fun and crisp, the story zooms along like a dragons flight and the 3D is extraordinary. I liked this film much more than Avatar. Plus, It's all about the dragons!
Clash of the Titans is super dull. The plot is broken the music is weak and the protagonist comes off like an ungrateful punk. It's only saving grace is Ralph Fiennes as Hades. Oh, I guess the Kraken is pretty great, but not really enough of it. But, that's it. I was never invested, excited, or moved. Good luck next time Louis Letterier. ( I love Danny The Dog and The Incredible Hulk!!!)
I like Breck Eisner's the Crazies. Not as much as the original. But it is still a great little film where the government is responsible for the horror, and the cleanup is as bad or worse than the original mistake. Curios as hell what he's going to do to the Brood.
