I think that Bunuel’s early surrealist films should be released: Un Chien Andalou, L’age d’or, and maybe Las Hurdes. One release of those would be AWESOME!!!
I agree totally with the OP. Awesomely badass movie. My favorite Kurosawa. Little better than Seven Samurai although close call. Waaaay better than A Fistful of Dollars. Mifune is better than Eastwood. Enough said. Go see the movie if you haven’t!
No, they couldn’t release it on DVD/Blu-ray. Criterion owned the rights for the laserdisc back in those days, but since most production companies (including the one that made Ghostbusters) are releasing their own editions of these films, they do not own the rights in any way for a DVD or Blu-ray release. Ghostbusters is a VERY popular film, and there is no way Criterion will ever get the rights for a DVD/Blu-ray release. Ever.
