Yeah, he closed his account. :( He is coming back sometime, but he won't be doing what he was before, instead I believe he's going to take a stab at vlogging! I'm really excited for this. I'll keep you informed though if I hear about his return on YT. I actually emailed him after he closed his account, but he hasn't replied yet. I hope he's alright! In the meantime, I wish you lots of fun watching some of those AWC selections. :)
i haven't yet actually. i think i'm seeing it tomorrow though as a matter of fact haha
Why, I'm glad you asked. :P Here's the complete list of the group round matchups: http://www.theauteurs.com/topics/4402/comments As you can see there's an Auteur member who's in charge of managing a country, where they choose 6 directors for their 'team' (we went with director nationality in most cases), and then select a total of 3 films for a match-up against another country. We're trying to promote some great international cinema, while in the process adding in a bit of competition for the entertainment side of things. :) Basically the first and second team with the most wins in each match-up will advance to another round where new films will be chosen. It'll continue on into the knockout rounds until we come out with one team as a winner, representing a certain country. Voting starts September 5th (we'll be voting on two match-ups per day, starting with the first two in each group), so hopefully you'll come out to vote for the matchups where you've already seen both the films -- for the film which you believe to be the better one! I hope all that made sense! Some films are readily accessible, but for the ones that aren't, online streaming links for the ones that we've been able to find/upload can be found on Christine's profile page: http://www.theauteurs.com/users/93287
You just made me realise that I didnt have Godard on my auteurs list. For whatever reason. I really thought I had added his name. Thank you again.
