Excellent film. Haunting. Strange. Moving. Disturbing. I don't know if it's because they came near the end of the Fascist era in Spain or if its just Ana Torrent, but both this and The Spirit of the Beehive are amazing films that I could watch over and over. Definitely a keeper. Geraldine Chaplin is great here but I can't watch her without picturing in my mind a grease mustache, cane, and bowler hat...
