Seen 'The Cabin in the Woods' yet? It seems to me that the film's target audience includes horror connoisseurs like yourself who've become jaded due to the lack of intelligence and creativity the genre has offered in recent years. It's not perfect, but I enjoyed it, and am now looking forward to 'Cloverfield'. If memory serves, you were a big fan of that film.

Finally got a chance to read the entry. I hope you also check out Sirk's 'A Time to Love and a Time To Die'. To me it's one of his most underestimated films. Even Kate might like it! Glad you gave 'L'Atalante' another look.

That epitome of accuracy called IMDb has 'Variations on a Cellophane Wrapper' as '72, so it doesn't even qualify for this poll. Good point regarding the vagaries of distribution. And films from that period aren't exactly about to see the light of day now, either, at least not through legitimate means.

well Rotten Tomatoes and AMG (which for some reason is called Rovi now) both list it as 1970 so I stick to it.
