Hey I didn't think of you as being rude or anything, it's completely ok! I hope things slow down for you a bit, and I hope that doesn't mean you haven't been watching films! I've discovered a lot of gems since then, we can discuss them more when you're back :).

Oh mistakes happen sometimes, glad you're back anyway :). Yes it's two horrifying hours of glorification of Nazis: Made by Nazis, about Nazis for Nazis. Well sometimes we should just omit some person's ideas and personality and stick to his art, if he has any haha. He was the bad guy no doubt! Not ridiculous amount, but glorious amount! Haha well done. I will be searching for his movies on heaven and earth for sure. I watched some Chaplin lately among other films and rediscovered his humanity. I don't have much time, yet I can't let go of watching good films and commenting on them! Haha.

I haven’t seen Triumph of the Will yet. I know that I need to see it, because of its historical and cinematic significance, but I just can’t make myself do it yet. I know it’s important, but to watch two hours of glorification of Nazis….ugh. The greatest aesthetics ever couldn’t make up for that subject matter. Yeah, that was the main terrible thing about Wagner, haha. God, he was awful in his personal life, wrote terrible ethnocentric writings, pretty much single-handedly destroyed Mendelssohn’s reputation for generations…not such a good guy. It’s insane that he could create such beautiful music. Haha, very true. Being in the right mood is so important. And, yeah, I’ve been watching a ridiculous amount of Wajda lately! I’m sure it’s tough getting hold of copies of them, but, when you do, I’m sure you’ll love them. In fact, a lot of them are on Youtube – you should take a look when you have time (something I know you don’t have too much of these days!).
