Hey Dylan! It's always great hearing from you. I hope you're doing well. I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. I completed my short film a while ago, though I'm not entirely satisfied with the final product. It's very experimental, and deemed too "artsy" by several friends who didn't understand it. If you're interested in watching it, I can upload it on a file-sharing site. I'm glad you enjoyed "Je t'aime, je t'aime". It was highly reminiscent of "La Jeteé" yet interesting and well-handled in its own right. Resnais is a long-time favorite. Another film you may be interested in is "Case for a Rookie Hangman", a Czech New Wave film I saw just a while ago. It too experiments with time and memory, and includes a plot similar to that of "Gulliver's Travels". The entire film is on YouTube, if you're interested. I look forward to your thoughts on Altman's "Short Cuts". There seems to be mixed opinions of it. I personally prefer it to "Nashville", though that too demands a re-watch, as I saw it quite a while ago. About the World Cup, it sounds really exciting. I have been looking forward to "Tropical Fish" for a while, but have yet to find it online. If you have any details regarding the Cup and repping the film, please do write me a post or a PM. It sounds like an exciting opportunity.
Thanks, RUby. I saw your post on the Nicholas Ray page. Unfortunately I saw it too late, but I'm still happy to have found your profile. please share a recommendation sometime!!
