We’re all children of Kubrick aren’t we?

This guy can go a bit too far, but his video on the Shining is amazing, which is here: http://www.collativelearning.com/the%20shining.html The Minotaur is the tale of a beast inside of a maze. All that go in that maze never learn from their mistakes, therefore never grow, therefore are stuck in the maze until the Minotaur kills them. This is what happens to Jack, while Danny does learn from himself (traces his foot prints, in fact the ONLY time Danny doesn't listen to the 'Shining's Warnings' is when he goes into that room, and he pays for it. Jack ignores it ALL THE TIME. To the point that after he sees the lady in the room and Wendy asks him what was there, he says 'Nothing.' It's more complex than that, but that's a good starter. Here are other GREAT sites in The Shining (and other Kubrick films): http://kubrickfilms.tripod.com/id4.html http://kubrickfilms.tripod.com/id81.html http://kubrickfilms.tripod.com/id80.html http://kubrickfilms.tripod.com/id16.html Here is a VERY indepth site: http://www.mstrmnd.com/log/802 I hope I've helped you.
I am a HUGE Stanley Kubrick fan and have read all the books on him and all the Internet stuff on him and obsessively watch all of his movie (I even have a copy of Fear and Desire). Can I ask why Eyes Wide Shut, Dr. Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange only gets 4 out of 5 and you gave Barry Lyndon, 2001:A Space Odyssey and the Shining 5 out of 5? It's not a judgement it's just myself being curious AND I think you have some really great taste, so I was wondering what about those three films make them not up to par with Lyndon, 2001 and Shining? Did you know that The Shining (Kubrick's version) was based on the Minotaur myth from Greek mythology?
I like the posts you've put in film school. It really is a waste of time and money.
