I enjoyed Somewhere in spite of the complete lack of a plot or climax or payoff of any kind. NOTHING happens in this movie. It may have helped that I saw this on Father's Day while missing my own father. I'm ready to say Elle Fanning is the more talented of the Fanning sisters too. This plus her performance in Super 8 has me sold.

Super 8 was overdone and heavy handed. It was a fun ride, the kids were great and the nostalgia was palpable; the ending was rushed, the characters were shallow and the situations were silly. I don't regret seeing it, but save for a warm summer evening DVD rental.

This movie is all dialog but always engaging. Julie Delpy is absolutely charming. One of the better straight-forward romances that finds ways not to be straight-forward.
