Hey Linda! Sorry for the delay - unfortunately my senior thesis got the better of me. I have no resent towards Pina! In fact, my producer friend praised it, along with the new (and supposedly his last) Tarr film and Ceylan's Anatolia. I'm really torn over that I couldn't attend the Melancholia gala screening and red-carpet, especially since I volunteered at the NYFF, but, I shall see it when it comes out in select theatres (I've heard that it's much more resonant than Antichrist). I have a special allegiance to Tarkovsky, I still haven't seen The Sacrifice, but I'm sure I'll love it since The Mirror is a film that marks a indelible imprint within me. I love Billy Wilder - a true auteur, my personal favorite will always be The Lost Weekend. Yeah, I'm definitely curious since it was also recommended by my best friend and musical colleague. Who knows, the appointed ensemble cast sounds a bit too ambitious, but then again, you never know. By the way, did you hear that Kiarostami's next film will be shot on location in Japan!?!?
