Anyone who questions Thelma Shoonmaker's editing obviously doesn't know s**t about filmmaking. This film was a modern masterpiece that was a throwback to Hitchcock and Michael Powell's day of cinema. Beautifully shot and well thought out from beginning to the end. Shutter Island is something that's rare in modern cinema.
