Haven't put a comment on its page, but I gave it 4stars. Just watch it first, and we'll talk about our verdicts.

so i just finished DAUGHTERS OF EVE, and im still shell-shocked from it. even though im not a fan of the softporn elements of the film, i loved those crazy, delirious wtf moments (so essential for great exploitation cinema) like when tonya stuffs sand on the girl's you know what and - of course - the murder of simoun. and because the film is so out of whack (it kinda feels like a perverse fairytale at times), leaving no room for subtlety, it becomes the perfect vehicle for tackling head-on (this film SCREAMS its ideas) why a barbaric society (society in '80s Martial Law Philippines) needs its witch hunts (this set ups a parallel with the Martial Law witch hunts of the 70s-80s). it also really demonstrates how the accusation of hypocrisy is such a BS idea. but what i found most touching in the film was that the two women in the end wanted to be kids again, wanted to be "clean" so to speak (that beautiful moment where there on the beach stark naked) - for a softcore exploitation flick to harbor such a traditional, religious, yet all-too forgotten moral was the most surprising thing about this film. hope this makes some sort of sense, thanks for leading me up to this film!
