MICHAEL BAY! What he makes doesn’t even deserved to be called movies each and everyone is absolutely terrible. Also who ever makes the spoof movies, like Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, and so forth. Whoever makes those movies should put to jail for cruel and unusual punishment.
JD Salinger, Chuck Palahniuk, Jean-Paul Sartre (favorite Philosopher but novel is also amazing.), and obviously Jack Kerouac. Also Steven Hall and Allen Ginsberg.
The french film made in 2006. Wes Anderson is said to be writing a remake of this film for american production (Variety Magazine). I love Wes Anderson and I await excitedly for The Fantastic Mr. Fox. But a remake?
What does that even mean? Cinema cannot die. Because Cinema is not one thing it cannot be generalized as a whole. Yes many crappy films are made but so are many masterpieces. So not at all.
I mean its not that it was bad but i feel as in comparison to the other films in the series it can’t even compare. I feel as if all it did was serve as a closing to almost wrap everything up. But even Francois Truffaut admitted to being somewhat ashamed of the last film.
I personally loved it. But since I’ve only seen it once I guess there’s still a ton of stuff I have yet to figure out. But this message-board is more about the film itself then what you thought about it as a whole. Was the perpetually burning house significant or just a crazy idea by Charlie Kaufman?

I completely trust him in making it into a film. Motorcycle Diaries was a masterpiece but not only this, I can see him directing and making it his own film and not replicating the book. Ao as long as he makes it his own but still recognizes Kerouac then I’m sure it will come out great.

Richie Tenenbaum’s attempt at suicide in The Royal Tenenbaums
There are some mzing scenes in “THe motorcycle Diaries”
And a ton more i can’t think of.

Truffaut: Antoine Doinel series. THere absolutely amazing and this series contains his masterpiece “the 400 Blows”
Kurosawa: “The Bad Sleep Well” “Seven Samurai” is probably the best to see first but my favorite of all his films is the bad sleep well.
Louis Malle: He is not on the list but if you like french new wave then see some of his films. Especially “Au Revoir Le Enfants” and “The Fire Within”
