Geoffrey Long is a media analyst, scholar, author, and creative consultant. He currently works at Microsoft in the Office of the CTO/CXO in the Entertainment and Devices division, examining storytelling, transmedia and design trends and how technology and entertainment co-evolve. He is an alumni researcher with the Convergence Culture Consortium at MIT, a co-editor of the Playful Thinking book series from the MIT Press, and an executive board member of the Interstitial Arts Foundation. His writing has appeared in Polaris, Gothik, Hika, {fray} and The Comics Journal’s Guttergeek; he serves on the editorial boards of Eludamos, the Journal for Computer Game Culture and the Journal for Transformative Works and Cultures; and he is a frequent speaker at such conferences as SIGGRAPH, SCMS, the Game Developers Conference, Pictoplasma and FuturePlay.
